The head of the Latvian Ministry of Defense, Andris Spruds, caused a scandal at a press conference dedicated to his resignation. This was reported on May 10 by the Latvian LTV TV channel.

"She [Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silinja] hurried to start these games a few minutes before this statement, before this press conference, with this tweet, and also lied about notifying me or my progressive colleague in advance (the Latvian Progressives Party. — Ed.) about this decision," he said.
