Trump said that the United States intends to address the issue of Cuba.
The head of the White House, Donald Trump, on Sunday, May 10, announced his intention to take on Cuba in the near future.
"Now Cuba is a failed country. And people live in poverty. This is a bad experiment," he said.
Trump added that he plans to proceed to Havana after the conflict with Tehran is over.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on May 7 that the American leader was not considering a scenario of an armed attack on Cuba and ruled out the possibility of a full-scale invasion. According to Lula da Silva, Cuba is also interested in dialogue and finding a solution that would end the blockade.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said on May 6 that the statements of United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the absence of an oil embargo against Cuba are untrue and at odds with the position of the White House. Havana noted that only one shipment of fuel had been delivered in four months, and suppliers were facing pressure.
