Dmitriev announced Starmer's possible resignation next week.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on May 10 that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer could leave his post as early as next week.

"As I predicted, Labor MPs and some cabinet members turned their backs on Starmer after the disastrous election defeat. Starmer's resignation is scheduled for next week," he said in a message to X (ex. Twitter).

He also noted his post published in April, which talks about the possible resignation of Starmer in May after the defeat of the Labor Party in the elections.

Dmitriev noted on May 9 that the only hope for the future of British citizens is Starmer's resignation.

On May 8, the Prime Minister announced that he was not going to resign, despite the failures of the Labor Party in the regional elections. He called the preliminary results of the vote tough, but at the same time assured that his party plans to address the problems that concern voters.

Bloomberg reported on the same day that after the failure in the local elections in the UK, dissatisfaction with the prime minister increased so much in the ranks of the Labor Party that the party is discussing a plan to replace him with Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham.
