- The head of Anapa explained the smell of gas in the city by the work at the base near Novorossiysk
On May 10, the head of Anapa, Svetlana Maslova, explained the periodic appearance of the smell of gas in the city by work at a base near Novorossiysk.
"I see a lot of questions about why the smell of gas is periodically felt in Anapa. I'm clarifying. The source of the odor is not gas. The smell comes from work carried out at the base in Yuzhnaya Ozereevka, located near Novorossiysk," Maslova said.
According to her, with low atmospheric pressure and a south or southeasterly wind, the smell reaches Anapa and disappears as soon as the wind direction changes. The mayor noted that this phenomenon does not pose a threat. The Rospotrebnadzor department monitors the air condition, and if measurements indicate an excess of permissible standards, the agency will notify local authorities and residents to take safety measures.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced on April 15 that the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation predicts an increase in the tourist flow across the country in the summer season to 48 million trips. According to the deputy chairman of the government, Russian travelers are now in demand for holidays in the mountains.
