Former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned the new government against refusing to defend Hungarian interests in the European Union (EU), because then the country would "wipe its feet."

"Giving up our patriotic principles and national sovereignty for money or political approval would be a historic mistake. We must not allow a foreign elite to decide our future for us!" he wrote on the social network X (ex.Twitter).
