Retail professions have become the most sought-after jobs in Russia.

The largest number of job openings in Russia are offered by the retail, industrial and construction sectors. This was reported on May 10 by RIA Novosti with reference to a study by SuperJob.

According to the analysis, in April, the most sought-after jobs were found in sales. These positions were sales consultant, cashier and store administrator, said "Газета.Ru ".

Vacancies in the field of industry and production took the second place in terms of demand. Designers, technologists, and mechanics are the most sought after in this field.

The third area that offers the largest number of vacancies is construction. In it, employers expect electricians and electric and gas welders to work the most.

Ilona Platonova, analytics manager at Adviros, told Izvestia on May 4 that the Russian labor market entered a phase of restrained equilibrium in the first quarter of 2026: with record low unemployment and a high number of workers, the general logic of supply and demand stopped working.

The expert noted that the most noticeable personnel shortage remains in mass and linear professions. Sales vacancies accounted for up to 12% of all employer requests, and sales and cashier positions remain among the most difficult to close. On average, each of them accounts for less than four resumes.
