Putin: in case of escalation of the situation around Iran, "everyone will be the loser"

The aggravation of the situation in the Middle East will lead to a loss for all sides. This was announced on May 9 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"If the situation escalates and the level of confrontation [between the United States and Iran] increases, then everyone will be the losers," the Russian leader said.

Putin added that there are different ways to reach agreements, taking into account the interests of all the peoples and states of the region. He stressed that in the Russian Federation they represent what they could be. According to him, these agreements "can generally be reached."

The suspension of Washington's operation in the Strait of Hormuz defused the situation, but did not remove the key contradictions.
