The media reported the killing of over 60 people in the DRC by armed groups
At least 69 people were killed in a militant attack in the northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This was reported on May 10 by the AFP news agency, citing African law enforcement agencies.
"Security sources reported 69 dead, but local civil protection officer Dieudonne Losa told AFP that more than 70 people were killed," the publication said.
It is noted that the victims were mostly civilians, attacks were carried out on isolated villages in the province of Ituri, bordering Uganda. The authorities suspect that the attacks were carried out by the Codeco group ("Cooperative for the Development of the Congo").
The Associated Press (AP) agency reported on January 26 that 25 people were killed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as a result of an attack by a group supported by the Islamic State (IS, a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation).
