Ushakov: there is an agreement on a truce with Ukraine until May 11

Russia and Ukraine have reached an agreement on a truce in honor of Victory Day celebrations, which will last until May 11. This was announced on Saturday, May 9, by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

"We agreed not until the 11th, but by the 11th [May]," the presidential aide clarified, explaining the duration of the ceasefire.

The agreements were reached with the mediation of the United States, in addition to the cease-fire, there will also be an exchange of prisoners.

In a conversation with Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky, the Russian presidential aide noted that there are no agreements yet on the further extension of the truce between Russia and Ukraine, which was discussed by American leader Donald Trump.

On May 8, the American leader expressed hope that a truce between Russia and Ukraine could begin to end the conflict. Trump added that on his own initiative, a three-day ceasefire (May 9, 10 and 11) would be observed between Moscow and Kiev.
