Magyar: one of the government's first projects will be an anti-corruption body

The new Hungarian government intends to be among the first to implement a draft law on the establishment of a Corruption Investigation Department. This was announced on May 9 by Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar.

At the same time, he called on Hungarian leader Tamas Szujok to resign by the end of the month.

"It's time for you to leave, Mr. President, while there is still an opportunity," Magyar said in his first speech as prime minister, as quoted by Magyar Nemzet newspaper.

Magyar added that Hungary's state-legal institutions have recently "lost the trust of society," so their leadership also needs to leave their posts.
