On May 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the last telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, said that the American leader had spoken "worthily" about Victory Day.

"We had a conversation about May 9th. And, by the way, he spoke about it very worthily, in my opinion, he recalled our alliance in the common struggle against Nazism," he said in an interview with reporters.
