Putin and the President of Laos hold talks in the Kremlin
The President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Thonglong Sisoulit, during a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin on Saturday, May 9, said he appreciated the opportunity to hold regular talks.
"I am very glad and happy that I have the opportunity to meet with you every year. It is a great honor for us that we can meet every year," Sisulit said.
The Head of the Republic congratulated the President of Russia on the successful celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. He noted that the Lao delegation had carefully read the speeches of the Russian leader at the Victory Day Parade and during the gala dinner.
"It is a great honor for me, at your invitation, to lead the Lao delegation to participate in the events on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War for the second time. I would like to thank you for the warm welcome of our delegation," the President of Laos emphasized.
Sisulit also confirmed the state's intention to strengthen ties with Moscow and develop joint projects.
"We are ready for mutually beneficial cooperation and I am very glad that I will be able to tell you this," he concluded.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted on November 20 last year that relations between Russia and Laos are developing dynamically, as they have been tested by time in the face of recorded changes in the world.
