- The Ministry of Transport announced the resumption of part of international flights through the South
On May 9, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported that part of the international flights operated by Russian carriers had been resumed and were carried out through the south of Russia.
"Some of the international flights of Russian carriers are again operated through the Rostov Air Traffic Control Zone, which reduces flight time and saves fuel," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.
The Ministry of Transport clarified that the airlines, in coordination with the Ministry and the Federal Air Transport Agency, are currently forming a flight program to southern airports for Sunday, May 10.
The suspension of the work of 13 airports located in the south of Russia became known on the morning of May 8. Experts have begun assessing the damage caused to the regional center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System (EU ATM).
Later, the Ministry of Transport reported that all previously suspended airports in southern Russia were operating as planned. According to the agency, by 20:00 Moscow time, 55 flights were operated between the airports of the southern regions and other regions of the country, carrying more than 7.1 thousand passengers.
