Russian air defense systems shot down eight aerial bombs, a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) projectile, and 467 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was announced on May 9 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"During the day, eight guided aerial bombs, a US—made HIMARS multiple launch rocket and 467 aircraft-type UAVs were shot down by air defense systems," the ministry said in a statement on the Maks messenger.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that 8,970 violations of the ceasefire regime by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had been recorded in the special military operation zone.
