A veteran of the Great Patriotic War presented a letter in an envelope to Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Victory Day Parade on May 9 on Red Square.
Putin, rising to the podium, greeted the veterans. One of them handed an envelope to the head of state. The Russian leader took it and put it in the inside pocket of his jacket.
On the same morning, the parade in honor of the 81st anniversary of Victory ended on the Red Square of the capital to the song "Farewell of the Slavyanka." As part of the celebration, military personnel from military educational institutions, as well as participants in a special military operation, marched in a parade formation. The parade ended with an aerial part, during which planes of Russian aerobatic teams flew over the capital.
This year, the parade involved the parade crews of the participants of the special military operation (SVO), the military personnel of the Korean People's Army (KPA) of the DPRK, as well as for the first time in the history of representatives of the troops of unmanned systems.
