The Victory Day Parade in honor of the anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War was held in Yekaterinburg. Footage of the event on May 9 is published by Izvestia.

"From minute to minute, ceremonial calculations will appear on the main square of the region. This is 1.6 thousand people. Suvorov fighters, soldiers, officers, representatives of all branches of the military. The birth guards of the honor guard and the military band are already in place," said Nika Kataeva, a correspondent for Izvestia.

She noted that front-line soldiers and home front workers have the main places on the parade.

"You can't imagine, you can't predict, what joy we had. This is an irreplaceable, incomparable joy," said Mavliy Galiakbarov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.

Meanwhile, Moscow is undergoing final preparations for the parade, which will traditionally be held on Red Square in honor of the 81st anniversary of the Victory. Izvestia correspondent Kirill Solodkov said that the formation of foot columns has already begun on Vasilyevsky Descent, which will begin their movement towards the Kremlin at 10:00 Moscow time. In 2026, heavy military equipment will not take part in the parade, but its aerial part promises to be spectacular.
