The Pentagon announced the creation of a group for the return of former military personnel to the army.

The head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, announced on May 8 that a group will be created in the United States aimed at restoring the military, who were dismissed due to the refusal of vaccination against COVID-19 under the administration of former American leader Joe Biden.

"I am instructing the Deputy Minister of Defense for Personnel and Readiness [Anthony Tata] to create a task force of the Ministry of Defense to restore service and resolve the consequences of COVID-19," he said in a video message posted on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to him, even if military personnel do not plan to return to service, the Ministry of Defense will provide them with the opportunity to resolve the issue of unpaid bonuses, review the characteristics of dismissal and receive the benefits due, as well as remove negative entries from personal files.
