The Immortal Regiment campaign was held in Paris on May 8. A commemorative event dedicated to Victory Day began at the historical circus near Republic Square. The participants brought photos of their relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War, RIA Novosti reports.
It is noted that the flags of the USSR, Russia and France, St. George's ribbons and red carnations could be seen in the column. The march is heading to the Pere Lachaise cemetery, where participants will lay flowers at the monument to the Russian participants of the French Resistance.
According to the agency, the convoy was accompanied by several French police officers.
On May 8, Izvestia published footage of the Immortal Regiment action in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to the celebration of Victory Day. The participants gathered in front of the United Nations (UN) headquarters. They came with photos of their ancestors who participated in the Great Patriotic War.
The Immortal Regiment campaign has already been held in Washington, Amsterdam, Frankfurt am Main and Panama. In addition, on May 9, the event will be held in Iceland and Britain. In Russia in 2026, this action, as Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported on May 7, will be held in electronic format.
