Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 8 that Moscow had not officially invited anyone to the Victory Day celebrations, but would welcome any foreign guests who decided to come.

"This is especially relevant in today's situation, bearing in mind security issues," he said at a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

The Belarusian president, in turn, noted that no security issues would be an obstacle to his visit to the capital.
