The historical name Stalingrad will be temporarily restored in Volgograd during the Victory Day celebrations. This was announced on May 8 on the website of the city administration.

"On the eve of the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Volgograd road signs are temporarily replaced with Stalingrad at all main entrances to the hero city," the mayor's office said in a statement.
