The Greek authorities launched an investigation after a military unmanned boat (BEC), identified as a Ukrainian Magura V5, was found off the coast of the country. This was reported on May 8 by the Kathimerini newspaper, citing official statements from local agencies, including the Ministry of Defense.

The Ukrainian BACK was discovered on May 7 by Greek fishermen in a coastal cave near Cape Ducato. He was reportedly drifting with the engine running. Currently, the authorities are considering several scenarios regarding the purpose of the drone, the report says.

One version suggests the use of military backup by smugglers to transport drugs. Investigators also do not rule out that the boat could have been intended for planned attacks on ships carrying Russian oil in the region, the report says.

According to preliminary data, detonators were found in the tank, but there were no explosives.

The day before, the Delfi news agency reported that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed on the territory of an oil depot in the city of Rezekne in the eastern part of Latvia. According to Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds, according to preliminary data, drones directed from the Ukrainian side towards Russia could fly into the republic.
