Russian President Vladimir Putin added a photo of his father to the website of the Immortal Regiment memorial campaign a long time ago. This was announced on May 8 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

He clarified that the Russian leader added the photo back during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"[Putin's father] was included [in the Immortal Regiment] in previous years, that is, the same thing was done, in fact, back in the years of the pandemic, when this website was created," Peskov said at a briefing.
