A piece of Eternal Flame from Russia arrived in China for the first time on Victory Day

Russian actress Maria Kozhevnikova has delivered to China a piece of Eternal Flame from the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden. According to Rossotrudnichestvo on May 8, the flame flew to Beijing for the first time as part of the "Fire of Memory" campaign.

The transfer ceremony took place at the site of the Russian House. The event was attended by more than 250 guests from China, Russia and other countries, including Western states. More than 180,000 Chinese watched the broadcast of the event online.

Thematic exhibitions were also organized for the guests of the event. The Moscow branch of the Alley of Russian Glory project provided the photo exhibition "Victory Anniversary Parades in Moscow", and the Moscow – Beijing volunteer group prepared an exhibition of Soviet brands and models of military equipment.

The concert for residents and guests of Beijing was attended by soloists of the Tandem vocal and variety studio, Egor Betekhtin with the song "Buchenwald Alarm", as well as for the first time the choir of the Russian Cultural Center, created in January 2026.

The government of Primorsky Krai announced on May 6 that a tourist train as part of the Lights of Memory campaign will make four trips from Vladivostok to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on the eve of Victory Day, May 8. According to the government, a lamp with a particle of Eternal Flame will be installed at the monument to Soviet soldiers in Rason and flowers will be laid at the memorial in Chongjin.

On May 5, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, launched the ceremony of lighting Eternal Lights at the memorials of the Great Patriotic War in 12 cities of the country. It is specified that the event is being held as part of the "Keep the Victory Flame" campaign. The memorial "Alley of Memory" in the Tver region became the central venue.
