Alikhanov declared the superiority of the IL-114 aircraft over its foreign counterparts

The flight performance of the new Russian IL-114-300 passenger aircraft surpasses all foreign analogues in its class. This was announced on May 8 by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov.

"Rosaviatsia and I have already seen that the flight performance of the IL-114-300 surpasses all foreign analogues in this class," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, we are talking about fuel efficiency, flight range and payload. He stressed that it turned out to be a very good economically efficient machine, which, of course, has a positive effect on the economy of the operating airlines.

This aircraft is an upgraded version of the IL-114 turboprop aircraft. It is assumed that the new aircraft will replace the outdated An-24 on domestic airlines, as well as foreign aircraft of a similar class — the French ATR72 and the Canadian Bombardier Dash 8.

2026 will be a landmark year for civil aviation and will mark the beginning of the transition to domestic technology.

The head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 7, said that the state corporation expects to produce 36 MC-21 aircraft, 20 Superjets and 12 Il-114s by 2030. Chemezov also reported on the testing of the MC-21 aircraft. According to him, about a third of the certification flights have been completed.
