The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will give an adequate response in case of violation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the truce in the zone of a special military operation (SVO), as well as in attempts to strike settlements and facilities on the territory of Russia. This was reported on May 7 in the press service of the department.

"The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will give an adequate response," the publication says in the Maks messenger.

The ministry clarified that retaliatory measures would follow in the event of a violation of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian side or attempts to attack Russian regions.

The truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in honor of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War came into force at midnight on May 8 and will last until May 10. During this period, attacks by missile forces and artillery, high-precision long-range sea- and air-based weapons, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be suspended.
