The expert spoke about the ways in which Online scams affect victims.
Scammers on the Internet most often influence victims through emotional pressure, as well as a sense of urgency. This was announced on May 8 by Stanislav Loginov, Deputy Governor, Director of the Department of Informatization of the Tyumen region.
"There are six main tricks that scammers use: fear, irritation, inattention, greed, desire to help, and curiosity. The effect is enhanced by urgency and authority," he said in an interview with TASS.
Loginov explained that the victims, being under psychological pressure, feel threatened. Due to the need to make an urgent decision, people do not think about the consequences. According to the agency's interlocutor, users who follow suspicious links and do not pay attention to the sender most often suffer from such schemes.
The expert concluded that the main way to protect against attacks is to increase digital literacy and pay attention to one's own actions.
The Rosreestr press service said on May 7 that summer residents were being sent fake notices of violations, and then offered to pay a discounted fine using a malicious link. According to Maxim Smirnov, deputy head of Rosreestr, such a resolution must be signed by the chief state inspector of the region, city or district for the use and protection of land or his deputy, and also stamped by the territorial authority of Rosreestr.
