Guard Corporal Danil Baykov, while serving as commander of a motorized rifle platoon, personally destroyed four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on May 7 The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) evacuated wounded comrades from the battlefield while under mortar fire. This was announced on May 8 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Under the command of the corporal's guard, the squad captured a key fortified position and held it. This made it possible to ensure uninterrupted communication between the company's command post and the assault units during the offensive. During the battle, Baykov destroyed three FPV drones and one copter-type UAV, which posed a threat to the neighboring stronghold. After completing the task, he provided first aid to the wounded comrades and personally evacuated the victims from under fire.
The courage and fighting skills of Baykov and his squad played an important role in creating a strong point on the approaches to enemy positions. This ensured the advance of the assault groups and contributed to the liberation of one of the settlements.
The ministry also noted the skillful actions of the guard of junior Sergeant Leonid Okotetto, who, during the observation, discovered an enemy armored car moving along the edge of the forest belt, reported to the commander and dropped the ammunition. As a result, the vehicle was disabled, and the surviving enemy infantry retreated.
In addition, Ocotetto used a drone to identify an enemy group that was secretly advancing towards the unit's positions. Thanks to a timely report, the command was hit by fire.
As a result of the actions of the junior sergeant's guard, it was possible to repel an attempt by the enemy to break through, hold the occupied forest belt and avoid losses among the personnel.
On May 7, the Ministry of Defense reported that Private Ivan Moskalev used small arms to destroy the UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a combat mission to deliver ammunition and provisions in the zone of a special military operation (SVO). The Defense Ministry also noted the dedication and professional actions of Private Ruslan Vasiliev, who saved the lives of two Russian servicemen during the combat mission to provide first aid and evacuate the wounded from the line of contact.
