Russian President Vladimir Putin during a parade on Red Square in Moscow on May 9 congratulated the participants of the celebration on the 81st anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
"Dear guests! I congratulate you on Victory Day, our sacred, bright and most important holiday. We celebrate it with feelings of pride and love for our country, with an understanding of our common duty," he said.
Before the speech of the head of state, the parade was hosted by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. At the same time, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, Andrei Mordvichev, is in charge of the parade calculations.
During the solemn event, parade troops of military educational institutions of the Russian Armed Forces will walk along Red Square. In addition, aerobatic flight groups are expected to fly over Red Square.
