Latvia explained its refusal to shoot down drones that had flown into the country
The Latvian National Armed Forces (NBS) did not shoot down the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) found near the city of Rezekne due to non-compliance with safety criteria. This was announced on May 7 by Egil Leszcinskis, Deputy Chief of the NBS Joint Staff for Operational Affairs, as quoted by the Delfi portal.
He also stated that when making the decision, the agency could not guarantee the absence of damage to the civilian population and infrastructure.
