The media learned about Fico's route to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will fly to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day via the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden and Finland. This was reported on May 7 by the Slovak online newspaper Marker, citing sources in the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Such a long route through Scandinavia was chosen due to the decision of a number of countries, including Poland and the Baltic states, to ban the flight of the Slovak Prime Minister to Moscow through their airspace.

According to the portal, Prague, Berlin, Stockholm and Helsinki had no objections to the flight of the Slovak delegation to Russia.

On May 1, Czech Foreign Ministry spokesman Adam Cerge announced that Fico would be able to cross the air border with the Czech Republic to be sent to Russia for the celebration of the 81st anniversary of the Victory. A day earlier, the Prime Minister of Slovakia confirmed his intention to arrive in Moscow to celebrate Victory Day. In addition, for a month, the Fico aircraft was banned from using its airspace to fly to Russia by Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
