- The IDF announced the elimination of one of the Hezbollah commanders during strikes on Beirut
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has eliminated the commander of an elite Hezbollah unit called Radwan during strikes on the Lebanese capital Beirut. This was announced on May 7 by the Reuters news agency, citing military personnel.
"The Israeli military said that the commander was killed in an Israeli strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut," the article says.
This strike was the first attack by Tel Aviv on Beirut since the establishment of the ceasefire on April 17. It also increases pressure on the entire notion of a cease-fire, as the Lebanese side launched a retaliatory attack on the Israeli military using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Two days earlier, it became known that the IDF had attacked 25 settlements located in southern Lebanon. The airstrikes were carried out throughout the day and also hit the city of Nabatiya. The next day, representatives of the Lebanese ambulance service reported the deaths of four people due to Israeli strikes in the western part of the Bekaa Valley and the entire south of the republic.
