Passenger car imports to Russia continued to grow

In April of this year, 75.7 thousand passenger cars, both new and used, were imported to Russia. According to the analytical agency "Autostat" on May 7, the import of cars into the country continues to grow.

Thus, in the segment of new cars, imports increased by 1% compared to April last year and reached 34.3 thousand units. In the segment of used cars, import volumes increased by 9% to 41.4 thousand units.

As Dmitry Yarygin, deputy head of the analytics department at Autostat, noted, in April, the maximum number of passenger cars, both new and used, were imported to Russia from the beginning of 2026.

The Geely brand and its Monjaro crossover are the leaders in the structure of April imports of new cars. In the segment of used cars, Toyota is in the first place among brands, while Honda Freed is in the lead for models.

As Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, said earlier that day, 9708 new Toyota cars were registered in Russia in January—April. This is almost twice (+97%) more than in January—April last year, when 4,929 cars of this Japanese brand were registered in the country.
