Before Victory Day, Mosgaz specialists carried out the prevention of the Eternal Flame at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his channel in the Maks messenger.
Moscow gas workers have been monitoring the continuous operation of the Eternal Flame since its lighting in 1967, the head of the capital recalled. "This is not only a professional task, but also a special mission of the company. She is trusted only by the best employees," Sobyanin stressed.
Before starting work, specialists transfer the flame to a temporary burner, a scaled—down copy of the main structure, the mayor said. Then they lift the bronze star and check the gas supply, the automatic ignition system and the condition of the equipment.
Mosgaz specialists carried out similar work in Donetsk, Moscow's twin city, on the Alley of Memory of the Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School, as well as in the settlements of Andreevka, Lyubovka and Dolya. Moscow gas workers will continue to monitor the uninterrupted operation of the memorials, Sobyanin said.
Earlier, Sobyanin said that Moscow had restored more than 1.1 thousand km of engineering networks and over 2.6 million square meters in Donetsk and Lugansk in 2022-2025. m roads.
