GAC is preparing to launch a new large crossover S9 on the Russian market. A page dedicated to the model has appeared on the brand's website, and the company's press service has distributed official images of the model. Prices and exact dates for the start of sales have not yet been specified.

The GAC S9 color range will include six exterior shades, including a two-tone body paint option. The crossover will be equipped with 21-inch wheels. The front of the car is complemented by an ultra-thin LED strip, the rear of the car is decorated with interactive LED lights with the possibility of changing the design. Unlike the Chinese version, the S9 export model is equipped with classic door handles instead of hidden ones.

The interior will be offered in three color options to choose from. The interior is decorated with nappa leather and natural wood inserts. The cabin has a two-spoke steering wheel and two displays. Atmospheric illumination and wireless charging for smartphones are provided.

The GAC S9 for the Russian market will be equipped with a sequential hybrid powerplant (REEV). As previously reported, the model was certified with a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine, which works as a generator and powers a battery with a capacity of 44.5 kWh (power reserve in pure electric mode reaches 252 km), and two electric motors with a total capacity of 340 hp.

The day before, it was reported that a new Volga K40 crossover was certified in Russia, the model received Vehicle Type Approval (OTT). The K40 crossover became the third presented model of the domestic brand after the C50 sedan and the K50 crossover. It is based on the Geely Atlas SUV.
