Trump praised Khabib Nurmagomedov at a reception for UFC fighters
During a meeting with athletes at the White House, US President Donald Trump praised the Russian champion of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"A very special fighter. Khabib, who won 29 out of 29 fights," Sport-Express quoted Trump as saying.
14 fighters were invited to the event at the residence of the American leader. They will become participants in the UFC tournament, which is scheduled to be held directly on the territory of the White House.
Khabib Nurmagomedov fought his last fight in the fall of 2020, defeating American Justin Gatji at the UFC tournament. Immediately after the fight, he announced his retirement from professional career, explaining that he promised his mother not to fight without his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, adds "Газета.Ru ".
On March 14, Trump invited American blogger and boxer Jake Paul to fight Nurmagomedov. Paul has been competing in the professional ring since 2020. He is known as a blogger and actor who gathered an audience of five million on the Vine social network before its closure.
