The company Anthropic PBC has signed an agreement with Elon Musk's SpaceX on access to computing resources of the large Colossus 1 data center in Memphis. This was reported by Bloomberg on May 6.

"Anthropic PBC has signed an agreement with Elon Musk's SpaceX company to increase computing resources and meet the growing demand for its Claude artificial intelligence software," the publication says.

According to the companies, Anthropic plans to gain access to more than 300 MW of computing power.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Bloomberg notes that other data center operators have recently entered into agreements with tenants at rates ranging from $1.5 million to $2 million per megawatt. Under such conditions, a deal with Anthropic could bring xAI hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

The agreement unites two competitors in the race to create more advanced artificial intelligence systems.

The Axios portal reported on April 28 that the White House is considering changing the rules of work of federal agencies with artificial intelligence in order to regain access to the products of the AI developer Anthropic. Earlier, the Pentagon recognized the company as a threat to supply chains, which led to a lawsuit filed by Anthropic against federal authorities. The company was declared a threat to the supply chain after it refused to provide the military with access to its technology, citing the prematurity of using AI to create autonomous weapons and the lack of a legal framework for surveillance.
