Bloomberg has learned about a possible meeting between Umerov and Witkoff in Miami

Former Defense Minister and Secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov may meet with Special envoy of the President of the United States Stephen Witkoff this week. This was reported on May 6 by Bloomberg, citing sources.

"Ukraine's chief negotiator Rustem Umerov is expected to travel to Miami to meet with U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff as early as this week," the publication says.

The Ukrainska Pravda newspaper, citing a response from the NSDC office on May 5, reported that Umerov would not be able to attend a meeting of the Interim Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada on the "Mindich case" because he would be on a business trip abroad.

They point to Zelensky's involvement in corruption schemes.

On April 29, Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing transcripts of Mindich's tapes, that Umerov had participated in discussions with businessman Timur Mindich about expensive contracts, the production of drones, and the purchase of body armor. The businessman also expressed his concern over Umerov's resignation from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
