A collision between a bus and a tanker truck on the Indonesian island of Sumatra has killed at least 16 people. This was reported on May 6 by the Xinhua portal, citing local authorities.
"At least 16 people were killed in a head—on collision between an intercity bus and a tanker truck on a major highway on the Indonesian island of Sumatra," the publication says.
It is specified that the incident occurred on the Trans-Sumatran highway in the province of South Sumatra. After the collision, emergency personnel arrived at the scene of the incident, who provided assistance to the victims and ensured the safety of the territory.
On May 3, an accident involving a passenger bus occurred in Turkey's Malatya province, killing four people and injuring 15 others. The vehicle drove off the road into a ravine, after which it overturned.
