A cross-border fire may break out in Belarus, the fire is moving from the territory of Ukraine. This was reported on May 6 in the Ministry of Forestry of Belarus.

"A large front of fire is advancing on Belarus from the territory of Ukraine. The Milosevic Forestry Fund is at risk. Belarusian forestry workers are preparing to meet the fire," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

It is noted that the distance between the fire and the territory of the state is now 2 km.

Alexey Boyko, a consultant to the forestry department of the Ministry of Forestry, added that more than 80 employees of the Milosevic forestry and specialists from neighboring institutions are ready for the worst-case scenario. According to him, more than 15 pieces of equipment, including fire trucks, are on duty at the border with Ukraine.

On April 27, 2025, a large forest fire occurred at the Ministry of Forestry of the republic on the border with Ukraine. It was clarified that a swampy area in the Milosevic forestry was also on fire. The ministry clarified that forestry workers promptly began to eliminate the fire, and specialists and equipment from five forestry enterprises were involved in extinguishing it.
