Yaroslavl hockey club (HC) Lokomotiv defeated Omsk Avangard in the seventh match of the semi-final series of the Gagarin Cup and reached the final of the tournament. The match took place on May 6 and ended with a score of 4:3 in overtime.
During the match, Yaroslavl lost by a score of 1:3. At the end of the second period, the hosts scored one goal, and in the middle of the third period of the game they equalized the score. Nikita Kiryanov, Maxim Shalunov and Maxim Berezkin scored goals for Lokomotiv in regular time. Alexander Volkov, Konstantin Okulov and Joseph Cecconi scored for Avangard.
Berezkin scored the winning goal in the 9th minute of the second overtime, scoring a double in this match.
Lokomotiv won the series against Avangard with a total score of 4:3. The Yaroslavl club will face Ak Bars Kazan in the final match of the Gagarin Cup.
