Sales of smart TVs of Russian and Belarusian brands in Russia in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 7% and reached 2 million devices. This was reported on May 6 by the newspaper Vedomosti, citing market research.
"According to analysts, sales of smart TVs increased from 10.8% to 17.4%," the article says.
In total, in the first quarter of 2026, smart TVs were purchased by 10%, or 2 million more than in the same period last year. The authors of the article also note that major brands from South Korea, including LG and Samsung, are gradually being replaced by Russian and Chinese brands.
In particular, if in 2023 more than 50% of smart TVs purchased in Russia were from Korean brands, then by 2025 this figure has fallen to 43%. At the same time, the share of Chinese brands increased from 20.4% to 24.7%.
Anton Alikhanov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, announced on May 5 that the Russian aviation industry had been able to fully replace aircraft avionics in less than five years. He noted that in world practice, the creation of an aircraft takes much longer. Even with ready-made technological solutions, including in the engine industry, it may take up to 10 years to develop an aircraft.
