Robson Kalajian's uncle was sentenced to five years for real estate fraud
The Central District Court of Sochi sentenced the uncle of the criminal boss Robson Eduard Kalajyan (real name — Ruben Tatulyan) by the age of five in a general regime penal colony. This was reported on May 6 by a source of Izvestia.
According to him, the 66-year-old man was found guilty under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group or on a particularly large scale or resulting in the deprivation of a citizen's right to housing").
The investigation proved Kalajyan's involvement in the theft of two land plots in Sochi, estimated at 550 million rubles, as well as in the development of these properties with luxury real estate and the construction of a hotel and restaurant complex. Since 2002, the leaders of the organized criminal community (OPS) have been holding business meetings in the restaurant, which was opened on the premises.
On April 29, two land plots in Sochi were returned to state ownership, and two residential and 14 non-residential buildings with a total area of 1.5 thousand square meters, including a hotel and restaurant complex, were recognized as self-construction. According to the decision of the Adler District Court, Robson's uncle is obliged to demolish these facilities within three months.
According to the source, Kalajyan was the ideological mastermind behind the theft of the boarding house, which the OPS carried out in 2000. The institution was converted into state revenue after 23 years.
Last October, the Sochi prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the court for the dismantling of over 15 real estate objects belonging to Kalajyan, which were erected in the Sochi security zone. According to the case file, a complex of buildings with a total area of more than 800 square meters, including residential buildings, outbuildings, a chapel and a monument, was illegally built on two land plots in the village of Kazachiy Brod.
