Russian film director Alexander Sokurov will not take part in the events of the Venice Biennale scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, and Thursday, May 7. The corresponding notification was posted on the exhibition website on May 5.

In addition to Sokurov, the organizers announced the cancellation of performances by Palestinian writer and architect Suad Amiri. As specified in the message, the participation of the speakers became impossible due to "unavailability at the last moment."
