The new Volga K40 crossover was certified in Russia
A new Volga K40 crossover has been certified in Russia, and the model has received Vehicle Type Approval (OTT). The relevant document, the design of which allows the start of mass sales of the model in the Russian market, is published on the Rosstandart website, an inspection of Izvestia showed.
Volga K40 has been certified in two versions — VCUF32 and VCUA22. The first has a 1.5-liter 147-horsepower turbo engine and front—wheel drive, the second has a two-liter turbocharged unit with a capacity of 200 hp and all-wheel drive. The single—wheel drive version has a hydromechanical eight-speed automatic transmission, while the all-wheel drive version has a robotic seven-speed gearbox.
The K40 crossover became the third presented model of the domestic brand after the C50 sedan and the K50 crossover. It is based on the Geely Atlas SUV. The design of the radiator grille differs from its Chinese counterpart, the Volga K40. All three models are scheduled to go on sale this summer, and they will be manufactured at the Nizhny Novgorod plant.
Earlier, on May 4, it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod company Passenger Car Manufacturing, which launched a project to assemble models under the revived Volga brand, applied for registration of the VLG Tech trademark. It is assumed that this name will be used for the sale of branded auto parts.
