The search for the missing Colombian has been going on in St. Petersburg for a month now

A search is underway in St. Petersburg for Juan David, a 42-year-old Colombian who disappeared a month ago. Izvestia contacted his friends and sister.

David moved to St. Petersburg to work in November 2025. Before that, he studied at the Rudn University and returned to Columbia, where he opened a business. The last time anyone heard from him was in early April, when he called his parents and met with his friend Santiago.

Shortly after that, the man stopped contacting. Judging by social media, he last appeared online on April 10, his friend Andres, with whom they studied together in Moscow, told Izvestia. According to him, David rarely told others about his movements.

"Juan David himself is a rather secretive person for some reason. He didn't tell his parents where he stayed, who he went out with. No, he's quite an independent person. Therefore, it is difficult to say that something strange happened on the eve of the disappearance," Andres said.

At the same time, he noted that David never missed an opportunity to wish his sister Angelica a happy birthday, but after the disappearance, he did not contact her on the holiday. Angelica herself told Izvestia that Juan is 42 years old and that he is not married.

David's parents flew to Moscow to search for the missing man. In addition, diplomats from the Colombian Embassy in Russia joined the search.
