Alexander Malkevich, a former deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, signed a contract with the Akhmat regiment and is serving in the special military operation zone. This was stated on May 6 at a court hearing on the extension of preventive measures by his lawyer Marina Pyatenok.

"The command of the military unit submits a motion to suspend the proceedings against Private Malkevich of the armed forces and to lift the preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions in connection with the conclusion of a contract for military service and sending him to participate in hostilities," TASS quoted the lawyer as saying.

Pyatenok also mentioned the number of the military unit in which Malkevich is serving. According to open sources, the unit belongs to the Sever-Akhmat motorized rifle regiment. The consideration of the military command's petition has been postponed for a preliminary hearing, which will be held behind closed doors on May 15.

Alexander Belsky, speaker of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, announced on April 28 that Alexander Malkevich had decided to leave for his military service. He noted that on April 29, the legislative assembly will consider Malkevich's application for early resignation at his own request.

In early April, Andrei Zarenin, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, decided to resign. As a source told Izvestia on April 3, there were no complaints against him in the civil service, his decision is not related to his professional activities. The interlocutor described Zarenin as a qualified and effective professional.
