New People launched the federal campaign "Waltz of Generations" on Victory Day
On May 6, the New People Party launched the federal campaign "Waltz of Generations" for Victory Day in 25 regions of the country. People of different ages performed a waltz to the songs of the war years at city venues and in parks, the party's press service reported.
The campaign was held in conjunction with the project "Living in a new way", aimed at improving the quality of life of the older generation. Students and young participants danced a waltz with veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
There were "Memory Pavilions" at the venues, where participants used artificial intelligence (AI) to bring archival images to life: they made black-and-white photos in color, increased clarity, restored damaged details, and also created video images of the characters.
Party leader Alexei Nechaev noted that Victory Day is a very personal holiday for him: both of his grandfathers fought and returned from the war.
"It is important that people who remember the war, remember our heroes from both the front and the rear, can remember it together and celebrate it together. It is important that young people, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and winners can meet with those who are still alive. And this baton has been passed down from generation to generation," Nechaev said.
He also said that young party members help the elderly, for example, by setting up smartphones to protect them from fraudsters. Nechaev added that the party has been holding an action to revive photos using AI for the second year.
"I had such a photo taken today. It's a very poignant feeling when your grandfather hugs you. Photos can fade, age, and such a lively memory <...> Needs artificial intelligence to bring some benefit to people. Including this one," stressed the leader of the New People party.
Since 2018, the United Russia party has opened 789 "Hero Desks" in educational institutions of the Moscow Region, which contain information about students who have performed heroic deeds. As noted on May 5, the project is dedicated to participants of the Great Patriotic War and other local conflicts, soldiers of the special military operation (SVO), as well as cultural figures, artists, scientists and athletes.
