In Severo-Kurilsk, the consequences of a powerful hurricane are being eliminated, which tore off the roofs of some houses and knocked down road signs. This was announced on May 6 by the municipal administration.

"The gusts were so strong that the houses literally vibrated. The shaking of the buildings was similar to an earthquake. A hurricane howled outside the window all night. <...> Wind gusts reached more than 40 m/s," the administration wrote on the Telegram channel.

Due to heavy rain and wind, rivers were flowing in the streets, garbage cans were overturned and carried onto the road, and there were short-term blackouts. According to the report, restoration work has already begun in the city.
