- EP sent the "Electric Train of Victory" from Balashikha to the Belorussky railway station
On the eve of Victory Day, the Moscow branch of United Russia organized an action called "Electric Train of Victory." On May 6, a train carrying participants of the Great Patriotic War (WWII), former concentration camp prisoners, yunarmeyts and volunteers set off from the MCD-4 Zheleznodorozhnaya station in Balashikha to the Belorussky Railway Station in Moscow.
On the way, the veterans shared their memories of the events of the war years. In addition, creative teams performed songs of that time, and the staff of the Russian Railways Museum told interesting facts about the work of the railway during the Great Patriotic War.
When the train arrived at the Belorussky railway station, the participants of the action honored the memory of the fallen in the war with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the monument "Farewell of the Slavyanka". Volunteers, members of the army and veterans also danced the Blue Handkerchief waltz with a brass band.
The head of the Balashikha city district, the secretary of the local branch of United Russia, Sergey Yurov, noted that Russian Railways and the Central Suburban Passenger Company (CCPC) near Moscow are co-organizers of the action. He called the initiative a good tradition.
"Today we see that this is really, truly a celebration, a celebration of generations. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, veterans of the special military operation, the younger generations, our young army soldiers, cadets, and United Russia volunteers are participating in the action here. And, of course, I am grateful to all those who are taking part in this action today and actively joining it," Yurov said.
The head of Balashikha added that ordinary passengers also join the participants of the Victory Electric Train on the way — they sing songs of the war years together with veterans.
Since 2022, United Russia has opened 789 "Hero Desks" in educational institutions of the Moscow Region. The project is dedicated to the participants of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) and other local conflicts, soldiers of the special military operation (SVO), as well as cultural figures, artists, scientists and athletes. Diana Alumyants, head of the Young Guard of United Russia in the Moscow region, called such initiatives a daily reminder of people who have become important to the country's history.
