More than 500 wildfires have been extinguished in the Khabarovsk Territory since the beginning of the fire season. None of them posed a threat to human settlements. This is reported by the regional government.
Since the beginning of May, more than 100 new fires have been recorded in the region. The fires were mainly in the Lazo area, Nanai and Khabarovsk districts. The total area of fires exceeded 54.3 thousand hectares.
Patrol and maneuver groups worked around the clock during the May holidays. They identified fires at an early stage, using drones. Specialists also stopped violations of the fire safety regime, IA AmurMedia writes, citing Irina Gorbacheva, deputy head of the regional government for infrastructure.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 100 raids have been carried out in municipalities. 24 violators of the special fire protection regime were brought to administrative responsibility. Five people responsible for the occurrence of landscape fires have been identified. Such raids will be carried out not only on weekends and holidays, the government promised.
During the May holidays, experts registered 20 forest fires. Most of them were eliminated on the first day. In almost all cases, the human factor was the cause of the fire. There is no threat to economic facilities and settlements.
There are currently five forest fires in the region. One of them is localized. 161 people, 22 pieces of equipment and five aircraft are involved in extinguishing the fire.
A special fire protection regime has been introduced in the region since April 2 in 12 territories, including Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. In this regard, penalties for violations of fire safety regulations have been significantly increased.
Turgunboy Zokirov, an assistant at the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure at Kutafin University (MGUA), said that the fine for the release of smoldering coals in green areas could amount to 50 thousand rubles. In situations of violation of fire safety requirements in forests and minor injury to health, an administrative fine can reach up to 60 thousand rubles, and with more severe consequences, a Russian citizen may be prosecuted.
